Whether you're a seasoned athlete or just starting out, this retreat offers a holistic approach to enhancing your strength and mobility with longevity at the forefront. Led by expert coaches Alex McLaren and Sharon Iacono, the program focuses on personalized training sessions tailored to meet your unique needs.

This is not your typical boot camp; it's an opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals, build confidence, and develop a passion for movement that you'll carry with you long after the retreat ends. You'll have fun, challenge yourself, and create solid foundations for long-term health and well-being.

Each session is carefully designed to help you improve strength and mobility while learning to work with your limitations. No matter your background, you'll benefit from progressive exercises that make the most of your retreat experience.

What's Included:

  • Breath Work: Learn how breath impacts your mental and physical health, influencing how you move and feel.

  • Mobility Training: Discover techniques to enhance joint health, increase usable flexibility, and improve body control.

  • Strength Training: Gain confidence through strength training that improves your technique, control, and overall life quality.

  • Low-Impact Cardio: Engage in sustainable cardio that meets you where you are, with options for both regressed and more challenging exercises.

  • Self Myofascial Release: Use tools like tennis balls and foam rollers to relieve pain, muscle soreness, and tension.

  • Mobility Flow: Experience a combination of mobility, functional movement, and yoga in full-body movement classes.

  • Recovery: Unwind with breath work, meditation, and supportive positions to help your body and mind de-stress after workouts.

This retreat offers a holistic approach to your health, helping you build sustainable habits that will enhance your life. You will be encouraged to listen to your body every step of the way, supported wholeheartedly by your coaches.

Daily Itinerary:

  • 8:00 AM | Morning Movement

  • 9:30 AM | Breakfast

  • 1:00 PM | Light, buffet-style lunch

  • 5:00 PM | Evening Movement

  • 7:00 PM | Dinner

Movement sessions last 60-90 minutes, with the rest of the day free for you to relax by the pool or explore the surrounding countryside. No practice is scheduled on the day of the guided walk or on the last evening.

Additional Information:

Midweek, you'll enjoy a guided walk with local Mountain Guides, Spanish Highs. This is included in the retreat price and can be adapted to suit all fitness levels. Extra walks can be arranged for an additional fee.

On the last evening, we'll head into town to enjoy local bars and restaurants in Lanjaron. Meals and drinks during this outing are not included in the retreat price.

Please inform us of any food allergies or intolerances ahead of time. While alcohol won't be served, you're welcome to bring your own.

What's Included:

  • Accommodation in a beautiful property with ensuite rooms (twin, double, and single options available).

  • All movement sessions

  • 3 meals a day (except lunch on the day of the walk and dinner on the last night).

  • Guided midweek walk with Mountain Guides.

Flights and transfers are not included, but we can assist with organizing transfers or recommending car hire. We run a few open movement holidays each year, but private group bookings are also available.

Trained in yoga, FRC and massage, you can expect a wide variety of styles in my teaching. Always based around functional movement to maintain balance in body and mind.

ATHLETE ALWAYS - Alex

Alex is an Edinburgh-based Strength Coach and Kinstretch® Instructor, specialising in joint health and strength training for longevity.
His successful training methods combine conventional strength training, with a newer, holistic approach to movement, aimed at increasing longevity, while at the same to boosting performance.

RICHARD - Bongo

Richard can adapt menus and dishes to cater for most types of diets and requests and always tries to source food from local suppliers where possible and his menus are seasonal and fresh.
